Jordan Wright Patterson’s practice is rooted in material exploration and memory, using unconventional techniques to build layered, evocative compositions. She dyes paper with tea , coffee and paints, creating warm, organic tones that infuse her work with a sense of history and impermanence. Hand-cutting the paper, she forms delicate, precise lines that introduce both structure and fragility, echoing the themes of time, place, and personal narrative. Through this tactile process, Patterson blurs the boundary between painting and collage, constructing visual spaces that feel intimate, meditative, and deeply personal.
Jordan Wright Patterson is an artist, fashion stylist and visual creator born and raised in Georgia.
After spending most of her career in fashion and dabbling a few years as a prop and set stylist, she landed in the art world by happenstance.
Inspired by the feminine form and organic shapes found throughout nature, Jordan’s work offers a moment of tranquility to the viewer and lends a light and airy feel to any space. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand, using delicate cuts into fine, naturally stained paper which then rise and fall into place for a stunning final composition. The monochromatic palette, soft curves and simple yet ethereal aesthetic pay tribute to her appreciation for true minimalism.
She currently resides in Newnan, Georgia with her husband and two children and spends her free time antiquing and lovingly renovating their 1920s craftsman home.
Each piece is hand-dyed and meticulously created cut by cut in her home studio.
